Toledo Clinic Sports Medicine is excited to announce the newest member of our clinical team: Christopher Rancourt, PA‑C, ATC. Chris brings a strong blend of clinical expertise, patient‑centered care, and a genuine passion for helping people return to the activities they love. His addition strengthens our commitment to providing exceptional orthopedic and sports medicine care to patients across Northwest Ohio.
A Strong Clinical Background
Chris is a nationally certified Physician Assistant and athletic trainer with extensive training in musculoskeletal medicine, injury evaluation, and non‑operative orthopedic care, who has worked with Dr. Smith for 8 of the past 10 years. His clinical approach emphasizes thorough assessment, clear communication, and evidence‑based treatment planning — all essential qualities for supporting athletes, active individuals, and patients recovering from injury.
He has experience caring for patients of all ages and activity levels, from weekend warriors to competitive athletes. Whether he’s diagnosing an acute injury, managing chronic joint pain, or guiding patients through rehabilitation, Chris prioritizes education and empowerment so patients understand their condition and feel confident in their recovery plan.
Passionate About Sports Medicine
Chris’ interest in sports medicine goes beyond the clinic. He values the role that movement, fitness, and physical activity play in long‑term health. His goal is to help every patient stay active, prevent future injuries, and return to the activities that bring them joy — safely and efficiently. He is actively involved with youth hockey in our region.
A Patient‑First Philosophy
Patients can expect Chris to bring a calm, attentive, and collaborative presence to every visit. He believes in listening first, tailoring treatment to each individual, and working closely with our physicians, physical therapists, and athletic trainers to deliver seamless, coordinated care.
Now Seeing Patients at Toledo Sports Medicine
Chris is now accepting appointments and looks forward to returning to Toledo Clinic Sports Medicine in his new role. Whether you’re dealing with a new injury, managing a chronic condition, or seeking guidance on staying active, he’s here to help you move better and feel better.
